Attic Inspection

As my technicians venture into the attic, one crucial task I assign them is to conduct an insulation level check. While attic insulation may not be a service your company offers, its impact on your system’s efficiency cannot be overlooked. Inadequate insulation forces the system to run longer, increasing wear and tear. Therefore, discussing insulation’s role in system performance is beneficial, even if we don’t provide the service. Informing homeowners that their system’s diminished efficiency, perhaps noted over the past decade, could stem from insufficient attic insulation is part of our comprehensive evaluation.

Upon inspection, we perform a thorough energy audit, which includes assessing insulation levels. Using a stick to measure the insulation depth, we document our findings with photographs. Should the insulation be below recommended levels, we ensure the homeowner understands its significance on their system’s performance. This explanation is vital, even if our services don’t include insulation upgrades. Highlighting how a lack of insulation has contributed to their system’s premature wear provides valuable insight, underscoring the importance of a holistic approach to home energy efficiency.
